About the Book
Prostate Cancer’s Emotional Maze: Forging Your Way by Larry T. Eiler is a story of how he learned to handle the emotional aspects of his confrontation with prostate cancer. It is an account of the course of his disease, intermingled with questions and opinions that are relevant to what will occur as your encounter with prostate cancer moves ahead.
The book concentrates on Larry’s first two years after diagnosis – discovery, investigation, decision, treatment and recovery. These are the weeks and months that create the most questions in your mind, the time in which you learn of the latest technology and the period in which new questions arise.
During that period, there are four areas for you to handle:
- Take Care of Yourself. Know Your Body.
- Confront What You Have. Deal with It.
- Educate Yourself. Research Your Options
- Seek Consults. This is Imperative.
The book discusses more about these areas in depth and recommends ways to handle them.
The story involves moving forward slowly, steadily and gradually to entertain all the questions that come to mind daily along the way.
