Prostate Cancer's Emotional
Maze: Forging Your Way
Prostate cancer, like many other diseases, has two elements – medical and emotional. The medical element is extremely important. There are many sources that provide significant facts. However, there are not too many sources that provide information about the strains on the body and the emotions. The “other side,“ the emotional side of prostate cancer, weighs heavily on your mind. You can learn to handle this aspect of the disease, or it can overwhelm you. This is YOUR choice.
Prostate Cancer’s Emotional Maze: Forging Your Way by Larry T. Eiler provides you with ways of dealing with the emotional strain throughout the process of diagnosis to recovery.
Why is this necessary?
According to an article by Dr. Robert Dreicer, the Cleveland Clinic reports that in 2004 there were 230,110 new cases of prostate cancer diagnosed in the United States. Of those diagnosed, 29,900 men died. This makes prostate cancer the second most common cancer in American men, after skin cancer, and the second leading cause of male cancer after lung cancer. One in six men can expect a prostate cancer diagnosis in his lifetime.
